Bud Smith’s business responsibility includes being chief executive officer in the specialty chemicals; refractory (metallurgical); HVAC; and process control industries. As a mid-level executive, he held vice president and general manager responsibility in the power tool; microprocessor instrumentation industries. His significant geographic experience in the USA, Japan, Korea, Switzerland, Germany, Brazil and the U.K.

His MBA teaching faculty (in addition to Katz) includes the Czech Management Center, Czech Republic; visiting lecturer at the Graduate School of Business, the National University of Singapore business schools; and nine years as adjunct professor of industrial administration, the Graduate School of Industrial Administration, Carnegie-Mellon University.
